There’s always been an invisible wall between investors, funding institutions and entrepreneurs, two world that seem to be separated by many prejudices and many times by formats that reinforce the divide more than bridging those realities.
At HUB Vienna we create the environment where the investor and the entrepreneur work together in creating viable ventures.
Three organizations active in funding social enterprises already used the “Meet the investor” frame: Good Bee, Ashoka and Bon Venture.
HUB Members with clear initiatives in different stages of development book their spots and explored together with the “investors” funding opportunities, deepen their understanding of investors mind-sets and priorities and came out with more clarity for their funding strategies and their business models.
On the 14th of March, Marie Ringler from Ashoka Austria was our guest for the second edition of our “Meet the Investor” series. “Meet the Investor” aims at bringing Hub members together with potential investors and give them the opportunity to get to know each other, to learn about financing criteria and to get personal feedback on their ideas and business plans.
Marie Ringler presented how Ashoka supports social entrepreneurs world wide financially and through networking and mentoring as well. Ashoka fellows “create radically new solutions to a social problem with the potential to change the entire sector”. She also showed the main selection criteria for Ashoka fellows: the idea has to be new and with a clear social impact, creativity, entrepreneurial quality and ethical fiber. Ashoka Austria is currently looking for its first Austrian fellow. For more information see: http://austria.ashoka.org/
