Hub Talk with Christoph von Toggenburg:
Tuesday 25th October, 18.00h
In Spring 2010, Christoph von Toggenburg, cycled 3200km across the Nepalese and Indian Himalaya along some of the highest and most extreme tracks in the world. Facing temperatures ranging from -15°C to +45°C, he crossed mountain passes higher than 5500m and covered a total altitude of more than 50’000 meters. He found new friends and was gifted with wonderful hospitality, saw some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes and managed to get across Nepal during the Maoist unrests, fell altitude sick in the thin air of the Himalaya and was severely hit by rock-fall.
Named Alegría (lightness, joy in Spanish), this expedition was part of a national awareness campaign to support women (affected by mental illness) abandoned in the streets of India. In addition, Christoph spent one month with leprosy patients and mentally-ill women in order to capture their dramas and hopes. Underlined with audio-visual material you will be able to join Christoph again on his expedition across the roof of the world. Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to register for the event. For more information visit: Vontoggenburg.com | Colourtheworld.org
