Dear Impact Hub Vienna Members,

as we are in a very special situation with COVID-19, we decided to send you regular updates on the steps we are taking based on Austrian Government releases and measures we can take as responsible citizens to ensure that the virus is not spreading further and keep the space and the community safe.

We hereby inform you about these changes and additional steps to our last mail:

  • The government recommends reducing social contact to the absolute minimum, i.e. only meet in person if absolutely necessary, use phone, web conferencing etc., work from home as much as possible, avoid public events and any travel.
  • Impact Hub Vienna we will stay open till further notice. But we will reduce the official opening hours including reception to 9:00-17:00, working in shifts.

We as well know that it is a tough situation that next to health affects business, therefore we reached out to get information on support mechanisms for businesses. Here the first measures & tips:

Tips for small business and self-employed:

  • Liquidity management is a must:
    • Contact SVS and “Finanzamt” about reduction / delay of pre-payments
    • Contact bank for in between financing
    • Agree with suppliers on payment conditions, but be aware that everyone is under stress and especially we smaller companies depend on each other and need to support each other.
    • Make financial plan for 1, 3, 6 months and have a clear overview of what needs to be paid when.
  • Use the time for business development: new products, new clients, new offers.
  • Don’t forget: As small companies we have the advantage to be able to adapt fast.

Let’s make sure that we do everything we can to keep the COVID-19 virus out. For this it’s important that everyone contributes to this by adhering to the measures described above. We will continue to keep a close eye on the news and will regularly provide you with updates as events evolve.

We know that this is a tough situation for all of us and already started affecting our businesses. Therefore let’s support each other as a community, share infos & ideas and work together. If you have any questions, please reach out to us and we try to help as much as we can.

Stay strong & healthy,
Impact Hub Vienna Team

Dear Impact Hub Vienna Members,

As you probably have seen the Austrian Government has implemented some safety measures to prevent the outbreak of COVID-19 in Austria. It’s important to mention that the latest number of infected people in Austria is 206 and therefore we just want to inform you of some guidelines. As a coworking space, we have the responsibility of ensuring the health and wellbeing of our members, but we also want to make clear that we don’t see reasons for panicking.

From our side, we are constantly monitoring the reports from the Social Ministry and the City of Vienna and implementing their instructions. Therefore, our main purpose of this announcement is to inform you and give you some guidelines to be prepared.

As the government announced yesterday events in indoor areas with more than 100 people will be banned, and we are already working, and there is also a checklist (in German) from the Social Ministry to check the risk of your event.

In order to prevent the outbreak please take into consideration this guideline:

  1. Cleaning your hands regularly with soap is the most important thing to prevent the virus from spreading. We also ordered disinfection products and hand sanitizers that you can use as soon as they arrive.
  2. If you’ve been to an affected area (esp. China, South Korea, Northern Italy), please stay at home for 2 weeks after returning. And if signs and symptoms occur, do not leave your home and contact health care professionals or emergency services by phone. Health advice hotline: 1450
  3. If you’ve been in close contact with someone who has been to an affected area recently, you should stay home if you have any symptoms.
  4. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth, the virus could be on your hands.
  5. Practice respiratory hygiene. Cover your mouth and nose with your bent elbow or tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of the used tissue immediately.
  6. We put signs around the space in the areas with a lot of flow of people, to stop the spread of germs. Please read them and ask our hosting team for questions.with more information and recommendations to stop
  7. “We care and are responsible for each other” is one of the principles of Impact Hub network. So we as well ask you to notify us if you have recently come into contact with people infected with Coronavirus or with people from areas particularly affected by the phenomenon, or if you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, please stay home and avoid coming to our space. Let’s work together in containing the virus.  Please let us know about your health development, so we can also inform the rest of the community and take any necessary measures.
  8. If you have any other questions or feedback, please let us know.

We’ll update the guidelines and instructions if need be. Let’s work together in staying healthy.
