RE-THINKING THE USE OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media has revolutionised how we connect and access and share information, but its impact on society is deeply problematic.
Algorithms prioritise emotional engagement over facts, create echo chambers and often amplify negative sentiments while limiting exposure to diverse perspectives or critical discourse.
The lack of meaningful connection, combined with constant comparisons and validation-seeking, contributes to psychological issues like anxiety, depression, and loneliness.
FABB Social Media is a skills program that is looking for initiatives that address these complex issues by focusing on the user and use of social media.
Application deadline:
Applications close on 19 May, 2025 | 2PM CEST
