Saara Inkinen
Saara Inkinen Innovation management, Chemical technologies, Commercialisation of scientific inventions

I am passionate about bringing new scientific innovations to the market, and it is my mission to facilitate the transfer of science to business. What ultimately motivates me is the positive environmental and societal impact that new technologies can help us create.

I have in total over 15 years of experience in R&D, technology transfer and innovation management. In the past I have worked in both companies and research organisations in various technology transfer, R&D and funding related positions, and in 2018 I founded my own consulting business Nordic Catalyst. I currently support companies and research institutes with their commercialization and R&D projects, IP exploitation (sales or licensing of patents or trademarks) and training related to value creation, innovations and pitching.

I have a M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering and Industrial Economics and a D.Sc. degree in Technical Polymer Chemistry – scientifically I am specialized in biopolymers (e.g. PLA) and have several international publications on the topic. I have also conducted selected business studies in the US and Finland.

I have well established collaboration and contact networks internationally, especially in Scandinavia and Austria. Since the beginning of 2019, I am also part of the board of FINNCHAM Austria.
