Information is the key for money:care

Sustainable investing focuses on a future where environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and good governance are recognized as integral to economic growth and success. The Beta version of their platform is already functioning, providing information on different aspects of sustainability: climate, society, and gender. Considerations include renewable energy, water recycling and reuse; recycling and recovery of waste; greenhouse gas emissions; union formation and collective bargaining power; CEO-to-employee pay ratio; tax gap; harassment and discrimination in the workplace; women on the board; gender pay gap; women in management; and support in care work.

The foundation for money:care is reliable data that is leveraged with the use of AI: “with our technology, we need only 15 minutes to review sustainability indicators from each company”, emphasized Herzog. By using the platform, investors can make decisions grounded in sustainability and finance. “Our idea started because we wanted to do sustainable investing ourselves and we found there was a lot of greenwashing” emphasized Timo Nothdurft. Katharina Herzog, CEO of money:care, said, “With us, every data point can be accessed.” Their platform is powered by a system that gathers information from a model designed in close collaboration with the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development (UNRISD).
